ESL (English as Second Language)

The Momentum Platform Project provides English support for adult learners whose native language is not English through our ESL program. The program helps students develop proficiencies in English for work and/or academic life. We offer two courses, beginners and intermediate. Our intake will assess which course you will be best placed in.

Job Search

Even though job search can be a daunting task and often difficult to determine where and how to begin, it is important to recognize that job search is an essential part of career and economic development. At The Momentum Platform Project, we offer a job search program with an organized approach including resume writing and interview preparation to help participants.

Resume writing

Success always depends on the right step at the right time. Getting your foot in the door starts with the right resume and the right employer. Come to our office and get the help you need. The Momentum Platform Project offers resume writing, Job search and interview preparation.

Entitlement screening

The Momentum Platform Project helps in assessing whether low income individual and family are eligible for government benefits while assisting them in the application process.

Translation

The Momentum Platform Project (TMPP) offers professional translation services to assist with clear and effective communication for Connecticut low-income residents. From immigration papers to marriage certificate the documents are translated manually and by native speaking translators.

Computer classes

Whether you are a beginner, our computer courses offer the training you need to build your confidence. Register to one of our courses and learn basic computer skills such as, mouse & keyboard, saving, moving, and copying, organizing files, internet search, and more...

Legal Services

The Momentum Platform Project provides free legal assistance to low-income Connecticut residents. Our Legal Services is one of the only programs in Connecticut that does not use the poverty standard to determine eligibility for services, which makes available to a wider range of people.

Advocacy

At The Momentum Platform Project, we aim to protect and promote the legal rights of Connecticut’s low-income individuals and families. Furthermore, we will provide legal representation and advocate system reform to ensure that at-risk individuals receive appropriate services, and their basic needs are met.

Health Education

The Momentum Platform Project offers workshops and presentations on health-related topics with supported health information and skills to adopt healthy lifestyle behavior.

Youth development

The Momentum Platform Project is committed to nurturing the potential of every teen. From an early age, we empowered young people to lead inspired successful lives through guidance, leadership, and opportunity.

Food pantry

The Momentum Platform Project food pantry program provides nutrition and other necessary items for low-income individuals and families. Our food pantry supplies nonperishable food and dry goods. Knowing that this may only provide short-term relief, we also provide resources to help provide long-term food support, plus access to different food bank locations.
